Ooty Tourism Affected by Karnataka Bandh Today

Karnataka local pro-kannada organisations are calling for a state wide bandh today. Bandh is to show protest against the supreme court ruling on river cauvery. This bandh spoils the tourism in Ooty. Many bookings to Ooty hotels and cottages were cancelled since people cannot able to travel from Bangalore. Many North Indian visitors were also stranded in bangalore airport and unable to find transport to travel to the hill station.

The mysore – bandipur highway is completly blocked and no vehicle able to cross the border. Ooty hotel and cottage owners were expecting visitor arrivals on late evening after the bandh gets over by 6pm. Business people in Ooty is expecting for a normal weekend crowd.
