Ooty Tribal Museum and Research Centre is opened to study tribal communities and preserve their cultures.It is working for the benefits of the tribes in Ooty and across Tamilnadu. The research centre is located in a 25 acre land just outside the Ooty town. The research centre includes a library, guest house and a museum. This centre is opened in the year 1983. The research centre is mainly following the tribes like Toda, Kota, Paniya, Kurumba and Kanikara. The centre also exhibit the sculptures and houses of this tribes in the museum. Recent times this centre beomes one of the popular tourist attractions in Ooty and draw people from all parts of the world. One of the must see for history lovers.
